Located roughly halfway between Philadelphia and Baltimore or New York and Washington DC, the Delaware Valley is right in the middle of just about everything. Watch the sun rise on the Atlantic Ocean, enjoy the sunset on the magnificent Chesapeake Bay. See the stars come out on Broadway, in Atlantic City or in any of the many area concert halls and theatres. Ski, hike or go whitewater rafting in the Pocono mountains. Whatever your pleasure, you dont have to go very far to find something fun or interesting.
If you want to get technical, Delaware is situated between 38° 28' and 39° 47' of north latitude, and between 74° 56' and 75° 46' of longitude west from Greenwich. The state is bordered by Pennsylvania, Maryland, the Delaware River and the Delaware Bay. A bit of geographical trivia the northern border of the state is defined by an arc drawn on a 12-mile radius from the courthouse at the center of the town of New Castle. On the map, youll notice that this arc just misses the straight line that is our western border. As originally drawn, the arc and the line met. However, Mason and Dixon discovered the discrepancy and redrew the states outline as it appears today.
