If you want to get technical, Delaware is situated between 38° 28' and 39° 47' of north latitude, and between 74° 56' and 75° 46' of longitude west from Greenwich. The state is bordered by Pennsylvania, Maryland, the Delaware River and the Delaware Bay.
A bit of geographical trivia…the northern border of the state is defined by an arc drawn on a 12-mile radius from the courthouse at the center of the town of New Castle. On the map, you’ll notice that this arc just misses the straight line that is our western border. As originally drawn, the arc and the line met. However, Mason and Dixon discovered the discrepancy and redrew the state’s outline as it appears today.
