Most local stations have traffic reports every ten minutes or so during rush hour and, in some cases throughout the day during heavy travel times (holiday and beach traffic).

If you’re new to our area, a radio traffic report can sound like another language. In Delaware, you are more likely to get directions using road names rather than route numbers. Unfortunately, some roads have more than one name. What’s more, the traffic reporters have come up with some catchy names for problem areas. So, even with a map in hand, navigating can be a challenge.

To help you get around, we’re attempting to build a list of the major roads and traffic tie-ups and the names each has been called. With the boom that we’re experiencing, new roads are being added and existing roads are being renamed all the time. So, if you see or hear something we’ve missed, please send us an e-mail and we’ll try to add it to our list.
